At Pretty Pierced, we are government and registered with Environmental Health to perform cosmetic piercing under the skin piercing bylaws for safe practice and infection control.
We have full liability and treatment insurance for the practice of body artistry which set the age requirements for each particular piercing of the body.
As a professional with over a decade of experience I have set the ages in line with insurance and safe practice.
Anyone under the age of 18 requires parental consent and everyone under the age of 25 requires ID

Lobes (seconds) From age 12
Cartilage (ear) From age 14
Face From age 16
Oral From age 18
Nipples From age 18
Navel From age 16
Surface From age 18
Female intimate From age 18
Ages 18-25 Photo ID
Under 18 for ears Birth certificate
Under 16-18* for other Birth certificate plus photo ID
PLUS
Parent\Legal guardian Photo ID to match birth certificate
* 16-18 can be written consent with copy parent ID
Anyone under 18 must be able to show parental or legal guardian connection. for legal consent. No, funky aunts or cool sisters cannot give consent I'm afraid!
All IDs must be government issued and valid and in date. Documents accepted:
- Driving licence
- Passport
- Citizen/ID card
- Change of name doc such as Deedpoll, marriage or divorce papers
- Fostering documentation with consent
- Child benefit showing parent and child names plus age doc
- NHS app showing parent and child names plus age
- School communication showing parent and child names plus age doc
